History

History Repeats itself…

In 1993 arguably the best electronic game console was launched, the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer. That same year a new cutting-edge video game called Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties was released. Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties was on track to save video games, but sadly, it was panned by critics. PC Gamer gave it a 3 out of 100 in 1994. GamesRadar+ listed it as one of the worst games of all time. Everyone’s a critic, what do they know anyway?

Despite this unfair treatment in the media, Limited Run Games founder Josh Fairhurst saw Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties for what it really was, high art. Years have passed, and now that the 3DO is only the second-best console of all time, Josh knew he had to immortalize this piece of history before it was lost to time. Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties: Definitive Edition includes a 4K restoration of the original game. It also dives into the history with newly recorded documentary content, a “Plumb the Depths” dungeon crawler mode, and unlockable secrets. With the game now getting the treatment it deserves, we hope you enjoy Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties as much as gamers did back in the day!
